The International Conference on Plant Protection for Sustainable Production (ICPS) is the annual conference of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sebelas Maret. Each edition takes up a different theme within plant protection science, while the conference itself remains a standing forum for researchers working on how crops are defended and how that defence shapes the systems around them.
What is ICPS?
The 2026 edition takes Plant Protection and Pollinator Management as its theme. Agriculture is under pressure from two directions at once: pest and disease outbreaks are intensifying, while wild pollinator populations have fallen sharply over the past two decades. Around 75% of the world’s food crops depend to some degree on insect pollination, so a protection strategy that suppresses pests but damages pollinators simply trades one yield problem for another.
Integrated Pest and Pollinator Management (IPPM) extends the established IPM framework by writing pollinator conservation into the protection strategy itself. ICPS 2026 convenes entomologists, plant pathologists, pollination ecologists, biotechnologists, and policy researchers around that idea.

ICPS is attended by undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students, lecturers, researchers, professors, heads of department and deans, alongside government representatives, extension officers, non-governmental organisation staff, and private-sector agronomists working on crop protection and pollination.
